I found this website whilst looking for a likely cemetery where my g Grandparents could have been buried.

The photograghs are as equally beautiful as they are very sad.

I have to agree Kaye, as fascinating as the grave yards are, they are also very sad indeed, I recently found a well attended grave about twenty years old, it was a grave of a young child, fresh flowers where on the grave,

Also very sadly christmas and birthday cards, some recent, so sad

Hi Kaye,

What an interesting website - I agree with you and Len that it is very sad to see such dereliction - that is why it is so important to take as many photographs etc. as possible to try to conserve some of the gravestones, so that we have at least got a record of them.

I know there is much conservation work going on - but not enough to conserve everything. Sally's photos in the gallery go some way to preserving this rich source of Social History too.
