I am looking for old photos of Hall Green, Birmingham, from the period 1880-1940, in particular from before the interwar period of housing development.

I am particularly interested in the area around the present parish church, Church of the Ascension (originally known as Job Marston Chapel), Fox Hollies Road/School Road junction and Sarehole Mill.

I have found a limited number of photos of the area on the Virtual Brum site, but most of these are from the post-war period, so I'd be grateful if anyone could point me to another on-line source.

Geoff:rolleyes:

Hi Geoff,

There doesn't seem to be anything much on the net for older photos of Hall Green, especially the particular area you need.

I did find this site though, but you may already have it.

Hi, Kaye!

Thanks for your reply.

I'm aware of this site, though I have to confess I have not visited for a while. Last time I was there I extracted 4-5 photos which periodically feature as my desktop background.

Cheers

Geoff
