Hi all! I have managed to trace my Dowler line to my GGG Grandparents Emma (1833) and Henry Dowler. Emma appears on the 1871, 1881 and 1891 census as a widow living in Hood street, Worcester. My GG Grandfather (Henry Edward 1858) appears with her. I can only but assume Henry senior died prior to 1871 (I got his name from Emma's Death certificate)...BUT I can't (not for want of trying) find Emma, Henry, or Henry Edward on any census prior to 1871 - it's as though the whole family didn't exsist prior to 1871!:( I assume (given that Emma's children were born in Worstershire as was she - William b. 1863) that she didn't leave the country, and I'm also assuming that they didn't spell her name TOO badly wrong on the 1861 (I've looked for variants - but no luck.) Does anybody know whether some of the Worcestershire census records were destroyed - or may there be another reason for them not appearing other than "no fixed abode"?? Thanks for any suggestions!

I don't believe you! - NOPE! Dum de dum!! I don't believe that NOBODY can guess what happened there!!:D EVEN if you post to support one of the notions I have given it would be of help - would help me to work out most "probable" reason. ;)

Hi Canopy,:)

As I am staying with my daughter (going home tomorrow) I haven't really had a chance to get into census' for you, I did find a marriage and death for Henry Edward on FreeBMD, but I'm sure you would have them already.

Give me a day or two and I'll see what I can turn up.

Have a good weekend,

Kaye. :)

Thanks Kaye...I've got Emma's Death Cert. and also Henry Edwards but not Henry senior as I not a clue which Henry he be...as I've not managed to find any of the family on any census prior to 1871 I don't know where he was born so I don't know which Henry he is likely to be:( Any help MUCH appreciated!
